His speech contained a roll call of people who supposedly exposed the complicity of skeptic climate scientists in a fossil fuel industry-funded disinformation campaign. I&#8217;ll note why this older event is still relevant today at the end of this post, and for the newer readers arriving here, please do click on my links, as many are quick-glance screencaptures of text details I refer to, or are fuller context posts about my references.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecowatch.com\/senators-expose-web-of-denial-blocking-climate-change-action-1917189475.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">19 Senators<\/a>&#8221; floor speech event was covered barely one day later in huge detail by <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Desmog19.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Desmogblog&#8217;s Brendan DeMelle<\/a> (yes, <em>that<\/em> Desmogblog, the site <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Desmog-Gelp-inspire.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">inspired by<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Hoggan-know-nothing-liars.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">motivated by<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Pooley-Hoggan-Grandia.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">built on<\/a> the works of Ross Gelbspan), where DeMelle particularly highlighted Senator Whitehouse&#8217;s speech <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DeMelle-Whitehouse-ICE.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">with a photo<\/a> (while additionally being unable to resist Senator Udall&#8217;s utterances about the &#8220;Information Council on the Environment,&#8221; a.k.a. the <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=7477\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">worthless evidence<\/a> that is the <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=4438\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>core<\/em> evidence<\/a> for the notion that skeptic climate scientists are corporate-paid liars). Wait \u2014 not just one photo, DeMelle ended his article <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/DeMelle-Whitehouse2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">with another of Senator Whitehouse<\/a>, concerning a prior Senate floor speech which I addressed <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=8527\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in Part 1<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Predictably, DeMelle also told how Desmog, Exxon Secrets and Climate Investigations Center <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Desmog-ExxSec-CIC.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">deserve major credit<\/a> for exposing this corrupt disinformation campaign. Yes, <em>that<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Davies-GP-ExxonSecrets.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kert Davies\/ExxonSecrets<\/a>, a site created by what I term &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=3227\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Greenpeace USA n\u00e9e Ozone Action<\/a>,&#8221; and <em>that<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Davies-no-OA-at-CIC.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kert Davies-operated CIC site<\/a>. <em>That<\/em> Kert Davies, who traces <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Davies-LinkedIn.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">back to Ozone Action<\/a>, a.k.a. here at GelbspanFiles as <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=4482\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the epicenter<\/a> of the smear of skeptic climate scientists.<\/p>\n<p>See the pattern? Skip all the subsequent middlemen for the &#8216;liars for hire&#8217; accusation, just cite <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/OA-Gelb-obtained-v2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gelbspan and the old crew at Ozone Action<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now, lets have a look at Senator Whitehouse&#8217;s 2016 speech. It&#8217;s not overly long, just over 20 minutes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=zg30xtfHq-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>, and nicely preserved in full context <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.senate.gov\/news\/speeches\/time-to-wake-up-the-denial-apparatus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">at the Senator&#8217;s own website pages<\/a>. He claims:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2026 <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">there is a growing body of scholarship<\/span><\/strong> that helps us, that is examining this apparatus, how it is funded, how it communicates, and how it propagates the denial message. It includes work by Harvard University&#8217;s <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Naomi Oreskes<\/span>, Michigan State&#8217;s <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Aaron McCright<\/span>, Oklahoma State&#8217;s <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Riley Dunlap<\/span>, Yale&#8217;s <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Justin Farrell<\/span>, and Drexel University&#8217;s <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Robert Brulle<\/span>, but it is not just them. There are a lot of academic folk working on this to the point where <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">there are now more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles examining this climate denial apparatus itself<\/span>. These scientists are doing serious and groundbreaking work.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>No, they actually are not. They aren&#8217;t even scientists, they&#8217;re mostly sociologists, and in the case of Naomi Oreskes, she is no more than a science historian \u2026 who can&#8217;t even <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=5917\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">keep her own history straight<\/a>. When it comes to Brulle and Farrell in the Senator&#8217;s list above, I already covered their ties and Oreskes&#8217; to Ross Gelbspan&#8217;s &#8216;crooked skeptic climate scientists&#8217; accusation in my dissection of Oreskes&#8217; recent <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=8291\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Friend of the Court brief<\/a> for the California global warming lawsuits. I covered Dunlap&#8217;s in my <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=7646\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8220;The Citation Cascade Fatal Problem&#8221; post<\/a>, and McCright briefly in my <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=1237\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8220;Skeptic-Trashing Environmental Sociologists&#8221; post<\/a>. McCright is routinely seen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?&amp;q=McCright+Dunlap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">as a co-author<\/a> in such articles with Riley Dunlap.<\/p>\n<p>But let&#8217;s go a bit deeper on Aaron McCright&#8217;s connections for laugh&#8217;s sake. Back when Robert Brulle shared his Facebook Friends list with the public, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Brulle-Gelb-et-al-1024x899.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">McCright was in it<\/a>, along with alleged Ozone Action co-creator <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=919\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kalee Kreider<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/GP-nee-OA-874x1024.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">affirmed co-founder<\/a> John Passacantando (<em>that<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/FreeBeacon-Kretzmann-suspects.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Passacantando<\/a>). Brulle&#8217;s FB Friends list <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Brulle-no-Friends.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">has vanished<\/a>, though. This seems to happen <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=1960\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">when I bring up who&#8217;s Friends with whom<\/a>. Kalee? <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Kalee-no-Friends.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Same situation<\/a>. But hidden FB Friends lists are defeated somewhat when folks on those lists still allow the public <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Gelb-Brulle-Kreider-Davies.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">to see their own list<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, all by himself in his own sole-authorship 2009 &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/law.hofstra.edu\/pdf\/academics\/journals\/lawreview\/lrv_issues_v37n04_cc5.mccright.final.pdfhttps:\/\/pdfs.semanticscholar.org\/7209\/23260f80378f16973c3bb120113c5f3f45c3.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Social Bases of Climate Change Knowledge, Concern, and Policy Support in the U.S. General Public<\/a>&#8221; paper, McCright could go no farther <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/McCright-Gelb-2009.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">than his third footnote<\/a> without bringing up Ross Gelbspan&#8217;s name, and felt compelled to cite a 2000 paper he co-authored with Dunlap immediately after, and his own 2007 book chapter after that. Whose name could McCright not avoid noting no later than the second paragraph of his 2007 book chapter contribution? <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/McCright-Gelb-2007.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ross Gelbspan<\/a>. Who did McCright &amp; Dunlap cite <a href=\"http:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20100626181318\/http:\/\/ireswb.cc.ku.edu\/~crgc\/NSFWorkshop\/Readings\/Challenging%20Global%20Warming.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in their 2000 paper<\/a> for their notion about &#8220;<em>Existing journalistic analyses<\/em>&#8221; which exposed &#8220;<em>sympathetic &#8216;skeptic&#8217; scientists&#8221;<\/em> and their &#8220;i<em>ndustry allies<\/em>&#8220;? <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/McCright-Dunlap-OA-Gelb.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ross Gelbspan and Ozone Action<\/a> (while further adding there there was then a need for &#8220;<em>for in-depth sociological analyses of these phenomena<\/em>\u201d). <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/McCright-Dunlap-OA-Ties-that-Blind.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>That<\/em><\/a> Gelbspan \/ Ozone Action <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/OA-Ties-that-Blind-reposit-1024x909.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">duo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s one more irony to this circular \/ single citation farce. I highlighted Senator Whitehouse&#8217; awkward-sounding bit about &#8220;<em>a growing body of scholarship<\/em>&#8221; for a specific reason. It&#8217;s not the first time that phrase appeared. McCright &amp; Dunlap said that back in 2011 (<a href=\"https:\/\/sciencepolicy.colorado.edu\/students\/envs_4800\/mccright_dunlap_2011.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">in a paper<\/a> which <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/McCright-Dunlap-Gelb-Oreskes-2011.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">also cited Gelbspan<\/a> about &#8216;crooked skeptics.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/McCright-Dunlap-growing-body.jpg\" width=\"494\" height=\"475\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>A growing body of recent scholarship<\/strong> has analyzed the strategies, techniques, and effectiveness of fossil fuels (and other) industry organizations.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Riley Dunlap brought that &#8216;body of scholarship&#8217; up again in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.okepscor.org\/sites\/default\/files\/u6\/Dunlap.ABS_.Intro_.2013.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">his 2013 paper<\/a>\u2019s conclusion <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Dunlap-growing-body.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">for emphasis<\/a>, while previously noting that situation in reference to his fellow sociologist William Freudenburg (<em>that<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Freudenburg-Gelb2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Freudenburg<\/a>), and others which are best illustrated in a screencapture tour de force: <em>that<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Oreskes07ppt.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Naomi Oreskes<\/a>, <em>that<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Conway-Mooney-Gelb-UCS-Lahsen.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Erik Conway<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Powell-Gelb-WFA-1024x612.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">James Powell<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Beder-reposit-1024x575.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sharon Beder<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Lahsen-Gelb-11-95.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Myanna Lahsen<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Newsweek-Begley-reposit.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sharon Begley<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Mooney-Gelb-1024x453.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Chris Mooney<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Pearce-WesternFuels.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fred Pearce<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Eric-Pooley-reposit-1024x933.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eric Pooley<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Weart-Gelb-media.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spencer Weart<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Piltz-Desmog.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rick Piltz<\/a>, Eli &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=3984\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">plunges off the single source cliff<\/a>&#8221; Kintisch, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/MAnn-Michaels-63-grand.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Michael Mann<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Schneider-Gelb-reposition2-1024x750.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stephen Schneider<\/a>. All of that collective &#8216;body of scholarship\/social science&#8217; in the midst of <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Dunlap-scholar-body-et-al.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">crediting Ross Gelbspan<\/a> as an &#8216;investigative journalist&#8217; who first exposed the &#8216;corruption of skeptic climate scientists&#8217; (there&#8217;s a problem with that &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Gelb-not-a-reporter.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">journalist label<\/a>,&#8217; but it&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=1700\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a whole other story<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>It doesn&#8217;t end there. David Levy, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Levy-bio.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a UMass professor<\/a> who is not especially far outside the realm of &#8216;social science,&#8217; had that &#8220;growing body of scholarship&#8221; phrase applied a little more vaguely <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/LevyEM-growing-body.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">toward the topic of Environmental Management<\/a> in his 1997 &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/pdfs.semanticscholar.org\/15e6\/cbfd6621d2cf5539b6347c8e0be42066916b.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Environmental Management as Political Sustainability<\/a>&#8221; paper. However, he was much less subtle <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Levy-Gelb-OA-reposit.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">about citing<\/a> both Ross Gelbspan <strong><em>and<\/em><\/strong> Ozone Action, while implying that the infamous &#8220;<em>reposition global warming<\/em>&#8221; leaked memo phrase was used as a negative corporate form of environmental management. It seems what Aaron McCright was wishing for in 2000 was already underway just two months after Gelbspan published his April 1997 &#8220;The Heat is On&#8221; book which contained that same <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/THio-pg-34.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8216;implication&#8217; evidence<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>No matter where you go in the &#8216;crooked skeptic climate scientists&#8217; accusation, there you are. Same lineage back to the same single source &#8216;evidence.&#8217; Which brings us up to the current year, Senator Sheldon Whitehouse&#8217;s own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/Whitehouse%20San%20Mateo%20v.%20Chevron%20amicus%20brief.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">January 29, 2019, Friend of the Court filing<\/a> for the California global warming lawsuits.<\/p>\n<p>In this instance, the Senator was aiming his diatribe against the U.S. Chamber of Commerce&#8217;s own opposing amicus curiae filing, seemingly hurling his standard &#8216;corrupt skeptics&#8217; accusation devoid of any supporting evidence citations. Notice the swipe about that <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Whitehouse-amicus-ftnote-1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">within his footnote #1<\/a> \u2026.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2026 the Chamber in this respect is <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">sustained and controlled by fossil fuel industry funding<\/span>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u2026. followed by this additional unsupported swipe right after that about them <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Whitehouse-amicus-CoC-disinform.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">being an indicator of<\/a> \u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2026 a decades-long campaign of disinformation, obstruction, and political intimidation \u2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Campaign financed and orchestrated \/ carried out by whom?<\/p>\n<p>He repeated the accusation again at the end of his subsequent Argument section for emphasis, but this time <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Whitehouse-amicus-CoC-disinform2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">with a supporting footnote<\/a>. Not so much, the reference to him there is little more than his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/384159560\/The-climate-lobby-a-sectoral-analysis-of-lobbying-spending-on-climate-change-in-the-USA-2000-to-2016\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2017 paper<\/a> that&#8217;s no more than a &#8220;skeptics are funded&#8221; pointless exercise. Funded to perform what specific task, at the risk of the funding being taken away if they do not perform?<\/p>\n<p>Senator Whitehouse&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Whitehouse-amicus-CoC-disinform3.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">source<\/a> for his accusation is \u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2026 now well documented in peer-reviewed academic research &#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>A.k.a, the story of organized denial has been well told and documented. <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=2907\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">No, it has NOT<\/a>. But why didn&#8217;t Senator Whitehouse do his standard roll call of a single source wipeout in his own court filing here? Because for all practical purposes, that was taken care of in <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Oreskes-Whitehouse-et-al-1-29-19-1024x851.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the same-day January 29, 2019<\/a> Friend of the Court filing for those same California global warming lawsuits by three of the people on his roll call list. The same three and others in &#8216;peer-reviewed academic research&#8217; which I dissected <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=8291\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a> as being unable to not only unable to provide any viable evidence of a pay-for-performance arrangement between fossil fuel executives and skeptic climate scientists, but also having three degrees or less separation from Ross Gelbspan.<\/p>\n<p>Coincidence? As I said at the beginning of my Part 1 post about Senator Whitehouse, a hallmark of the far-left side political spectrum, including the far-left enviro-activists, is their psychological projection.
