The prominent people promulgating the notion of catastrophic man-caused global warming seem to be oblivious to how some of their statements are totally unfettered psychological projection<\/a> of what their side is actually enslaved to, when it comes to protecting their position with multi-pronged attacks against their ‘fossil fuel industry-paid corrupt critics.’<\/p>\n

Back on July 6, 2016, Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse gave a U.S. Senate floor speech titled “Time to Wake Up: The Denial Apparatus<\/a>” (Youtube video version here<\/a>) in which he launched straight into a diatribe about “a many-tentacled, industry-controlled apparatus that is deliberately polluting our discourse in this Nation with phony climate denial<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

Who did he say were a “growing body of scholarship \u2026 examining this apparatus, how it is funded, how it communicates, and how it propagates the denial message<\/em>\u201d? No less than a list of the same people<\/a> I’ve already termed here at GelbspanFiles as “Skeptic-Trashing Environmental Sociologists<\/a>.” The folks who, when they aren’t citing each other<\/a> regarding evidence of a ‘fossil fuel industry climate misinformation machine,’ are citing Gelbspan directly<\/a> (or themselves<\/em> and Gelbspan at the same time<\/a>) for the meritless and hugely self-problematic<\/a> ‘industry-funded corrupt skeptic climate scientists’ accusation.<\/p>\n

And in an acute irony to that, Senator Whitehouse proceeded to cite one of Gelbspan’s Facebook Friends<\/a> to set up the analogy about a “many-tentacled, industry-controlled apparatus<\/em>\u201d (click image to enlarge):<\/p>\n

Professor Brulle likens it to a stage production: “\u2026 behind the stars is an organizational structure of directors, script writers, and producers. \u2026 If you want to understand what\u2019s driving this movement, you have to look at what is going on behind the scenes.”<\/p>\n

The whole apparatus is designed to be big and sophisticated enough that when you see its many parts, you can be fooled into thinking it is not all the same animal, but it is, just like the mythological Hydra: many heads, same beast<\/span>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Senator is somewhat repetitive; he said nearly the same thing with the same names back in 2014<\/a>.<\/p>\n

No matter how often he repeats it, it will never<\/em><\/strong> lead objective, unbiased examiners to people having evidence of a multi-headed effort stemming from a single source of fossil fuel industry-orchestrated\/funded disinformation.<\/p>\n

What’s the actual Hydra in the global warming issue? The “multitude of sources” consistently failing to prove skeptic climate scientists are paid by fossil fuel executives to spread lies undercutting the certainty of man-caused global warming. All stem back to the time when Ross Gelbspan gave that accusation its biggest media traction push in 1997<\/a>. And where did that apparently have part of its roots? Al Gore’s 1991-’92 Senate office<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Want to have fun examining the ‘Senator Whitehouse head’ of this Hydra? Have him disclose, under oath if possible, who fed him the names he cites for the evidence of the ‘crooked skeptics’ accusation.
