My blog post title this time is a paraphrase of the article title “I asked an AI assistant to write my Wikipedia entry — it couldn’t stop lying” by UK Journalist/book author Steve Boggan, which I pointed out in toward the bottom of my Sept 2025 blog post within this “artificial subintelligence” series of posts I have here at GelbspanFiles. A fun small twist to this kind of situation happened just recently to me.
The setup about this situation is that I learned about a new California code having the intent of mandating landlords to provide A/C to their renters which must deliver 82°F minimally …. because global warming. Since I’ve had more then one set of neighbors who’ve given me the impression they’d need to have Last Rites / hospice care if their A/C units failed to deliver lower than 60°F, I thought it would be worthwhile to alert one analyst of this silly situation to my own personal three-decade heat adaptation ability, along with —oh, by the way— California is home to both its Attorney General’s massively faulty global warming lawsuit and the San Francisco law firm Sher Edling, which has filed a pile of global warming damages lawsuits from Hawaii to Puerto Rico. It wouldn’t surprise me if all those California law offices have their A/C units pumping out Arctic levels of chill and would endorse city code mandates far lower than 82°F …. because global warming. But also because they might feel entitled to that level of indoor chill, and that lower-income people are even more entitled …. because climate justice. Or something.
The analyst I alerted, who’s the Executive Director / CEO of a 10,000 members+ trade association, was impressed enough with what I wrote that he asked if he could use it as an article in his print magazine, perhaps even as a cover story. I’m quite flattered about that offer, and will mention it (and I assume its online version) upon publication. I simply made a few minor corrections to how he’d reworded, and clarified a particular paragraph about the dicey situations surrounding CA AG Rob Bonta and the Sher Edling firm.
Where the angle of ‘artificial sub-intelligence’ comes in concerns the bio line for me which the trade association Exec Director created for the end of my print article draft. I hadn’t thought of writing my own bio line, and since he likely uses what’s constituting ever-more widespread online ‘artificial intelligence’ information producers, my guess is that he fed my name and my blog name into one of those, and it spit out:

Holy Toledo. I can’t even guess where the “self employed” label comes from, I’ve never labeled myself as such ever since I became purposely unemployed back in 2008, and my funding disclosures have been as transparent as can be about the 2013-2018 subsistence-level donations I received, and my subsequent reliance on my own meager personal savings and small inheritance. If an ‘artificial intelligence’ system is not smart enough to dig into my blog to find out what my ‘job status’ is – or lack thereof – that would indicate the system is not all that smart.
True, I author the material here at this blog, but to say I “contribute” to this blog would be redundant because I am the sole author, with the exception of the six guest posts so far, the last of which is approaching being a decade-old.

That right there is an indicator that ‘artificial intelligence’ information producers actually have no brains at all, they are little more than lightning-fast gleaners of info from the internet. Over-glorified search engines, that now have the ability to offer ‘info’ in smart-looking sentence form, which makes them seem more human.
It doesn’t take extensive smart digging to find out who the real creator was for my bare bones blog framework, where I’m given free rein to write what I write. Ross Gelbspan would never have created a blog which undercuts all that he stood for, which includes what has every appearance of him self-labeling as a Pulitzer winner while never disputing others ascribing the label to him, when he never won a Pulitzer.
Rest assured, I re-wrote the bio line for that upcoming magazine print article, reflecting what the reality is.
Wouldn’t it be interesting if the collective ‘artificial sub-intelligence’ systems start getting smart and gather all of the information on controversial topics, instead of regurgitating the enviro-activist propaganda angles?
