The <em>Washington Post<\/em> obituary is here: &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/obituaries\/2024\/02\/17\/ross-gelbspan-climate-journalist-dies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ross Gelbspan, author who probed roots of climate change denial, dies at 84<\/a>.&#8221; (also archived <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/st5bR\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>). If you want a window into the world of how mainstream media news in the United States now operates, look no further than these obituaries &#8211; on what they told and what they <strong>omitted.<\/strong><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The <em>NYT<\/em> used to be called &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Wiki-newspaper-of-record.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the newspaper of record<\/a>,&#8221; implying it was the source of impeccable reporting. <em>WashPo<\/em>\u2019s post-Trump election slogan has been &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/WashPo-darkness-slogan.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Democracy Dies in Darkness<\/a>,&#8221; which &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/WashPo-darkness-meaning.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to them<\/a>, means the newspaper &#8220;conveys news and information with unparalleled analysis and insight.&#8221; For those who may forget, the old Soviet Union&#8217;s communist party newspaper of <em>propaganda<\/em> record was named &#8220;Pravda,&#8221; the Russian name translating to the word &#8220;truth&#8221;\u2026 which Soviet citizens knew the newspaper containing anything but the truth.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Thoughtful&#8217; of the <em>NYT<\/em> and <em>WashPo<\/em> to finally publish these almost three weeks after the man died. I reported the news <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=16371\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in my blog on Feb 10th<\/a>, three days after I first learned about his January 27 death <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Gelb-1-27-24.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">via his Facebook page<\/a>. As I noted within my blog post, it struck me as odd that no major news outlet reported about this event. Prior to the <em>NYT<\/em> piece, the most prominent person to bring up this news was environmentalist Bill McKibben in his <a href=\"https:\/\/billmckibben.substack.com\/p\/good-trouble-on-the-bad-river\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Feb 13 Substack article writeup about a documentary movie<\/a> \u2026 in which he mentioned Ross Gelbspan <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/McKibbens-97-BP-blunder.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">almost as an afterthought<\/a>, getting the name of Gelbspan&#8217;s 1997 book <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Amazon-HiO-1997.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">totally wrong<\/a>. Want to see how sad and embarrassing the perpetuation of Gelbspan&#8217;s long-ago &#8220;Pulitzer Prize&#8221; stolen valor resum\u00e9 fraud is, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/CCNow-2-9-24-Pulit-Twit.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">which I noted<\/a> in my prior blog post? Look no further than NPR radio host Steve Curwood repeating it <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/LoE-Gelb-Feb-24-Pulit.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in his Feb 16 show<\/a>. The man <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pulitzer.org\/search\/Gelbspan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">never won that prize<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Now, piling onto the American Pravda problem, let&#8217;s examine what&#8217;s in these <em>NYT<\/em> \/ <em>WashPo<\/em> obituaries, via screencapture links of their relevant passages:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/NYT-exposer-disinfo-docr-investigator.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>NYT<\/em><\/a> \/ <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/WashPo-prober-follower-exposer.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>WashPo<\/em><\/a>: &#8216;investigative journalist \/ author, exposer \/ prober \/ money follower of the disinformation &amp; doubt pushing \/ science consensus denying fossil fuel industry.&#8217;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>No, no, <strong>no.<\/strong> Give the <em>WashPo<\/em> some credit for placing a little more emphasis on Ross Gelbspan being an &#8220;author&#8221; doing whatever &#8216;exposing&#8217; he did about the fossil fuel industry. No evidence exists anywhere that can be readily found that he was a working &#8216;investigative journalist&#8217; when he began his &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?cat=126\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">discovery odyssey<\/a>\u2019 into the industry-paid skeptic scientist &#8216;shills.&#8217;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/NYT-trees-undertable.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>NYT<\/em><\/a> \/ <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/WashPo-trees-undertable.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>WashPo<\/em><\/a>: &#8220;I tolerate the trees,&#8221; he said on YouTube last year \u2026 &#8220;I learned the coal industry was paying a handful of scientists under the table to say nothing was happening to the climate.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Gelbspan didn&#8217;t just say that bit about tolerating trees and undertable payments last year, he said it <em>so many times<\/em> it&#8217;s difficult to count them all, dating back <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Hot-as-Alibi-trees.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to at least September 2004<\/a> when he began using it as an <em>ad nauseam<\/em>-repeated talking point in his promotional tour for his &#8220;Boiling Point&#8221; book. In <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=14648\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">my Nov 30, 2023 blog post<\/a> concerning his YouTube video last year, I covered how much of a foolhardy thing that was to bring up the &#8216;trees-to-illicit-payments&#8217; talking point again, and I detailed how demonstratively false his accusation was. His accusation arguably strayed into epic libel libel\/slander territory. Quoting one of the last objective reporters to report on the issue, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=HM9SNjRXIxs&amp;t=1707s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC News Nightline anchor Ted Koppel<\/a>, it is irrelevant who the scientists associate with if their science assessments are not debunked <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/GF-Koppel-Gore-beatdown.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">at the science level<\/a>.<\/em><\/strong> Ross Gelbspan, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=963\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">despite labels to the contrary<\/a>, had zero expertise to debate those scientists on the science.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/WashPo-reposit.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>WashPo<\/em><\/a>: &#8220;Gelbspan <strong>cited<\/strong> a 1991 memo \u2026&#8221; \/\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/NYT-reposit.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>NYT<\/em><\/a>: &#8220;\u2026 <strong>dug up<\/strong> a 1991 memo \u2026 to &#8216;reposition global warming as theory rather than fact.'&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Credit the <em>WashPo<\/em> for minimally stating a true fact there. Fault the <em>NYT<\/em> for not only making a statement of outright <em>disinformation<\/em> there, the obituary writer managed to also insult his own newspaper \u2014 the earliest I can find of Gelbspan directly quoting those rejected, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Arnold-corroborates3.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">never-implemented memos<\/a> was <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=16037\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mid-November 1995<\/a>. The <em>NYT<\/em>\u2019s own Matt Wald directly quoted them nearly 4\u00bd years before Gelbspan, saying they were <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/NYT-91-Wald-reposit-SierraC.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">leaked to his newspaper by the Sierra Club<\/a>. Fault the <em>WashPo<\/em> for <strong>not citing<\/strong> the\u00a0<em>NYT<\/em>\u2019s Matt Wald about the memos. There is no way Gelbspan could have &#8220;dug up&#8221; those memos unless he is somehow an uncredited operative within the Sierra Club &#8211; which, as I detailed a decade ago, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=1367\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claims no role in the matter of these memos<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/NYT-Bill-reads-THiO.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>NYT<\/em><\/a> \/ <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/WashPo-Bill-reads-THiO.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>WashPo<\/em><\/a>: &#8216;President Bill Clinton reads Gelbspan&#8217;s 1997 The Heat is On book&#8217;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And as I detailed <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=4265\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in my August 26, 2016 blog post<\/a>, both Clinton and the mainstream media <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/FictionalBill-wipes-out-Gelb-copy.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">missed an opportunity to torpedo Gelbspan&#8217;s new second career<\/a> right at that point, to so much of a devastating effect that we might not even be discussing the climate issue today at all. The collective suspiciously simultaneous reportage about Clinton&#8217;s vacation reading looked like a staged political agenda stunt.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/NYT-THIO-98.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>NYT<\/em><\/a>: &#8220;In \u201cThe Heat Is On\u201d (199<em><strong>7<\/strong><\/em>) \u2026&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Bill Clinton could not have held up the specific <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Amazon-THiO-Sept-98.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1998 paperback version<\/a> the <em>NYT<\/em> shows during his August 1997 vacation. The <em>NYT<\/em>\u2019s label of &#8220;1997&#8221; does not apply to that 1998 paperback. In my decade+ exploration into narratives concerning Gelbspan, I&#8217;ve often seen people referring to <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Amazon-THiO-Aug-97.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gelbspan&#8217;s &#8217;97 hardcover<\/a> while showing \/ linking to his &#8217;98 paperback. The obituary writer here might just be inept, but what&#8217;s potentially one reason why others might do that? <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=223\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I covered it back in 2013<\/a>: Gelbspan&#8217;s name switch <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/HiO-34s-Fred-or-Sherwood.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">on page 34 between the two versions<\/a> where he offered <strong>zero<\/strong> explanations for it or any apology to the person &#8211; Dr S Fred Singer &#8211;\u00a0 whose name he buried out of sight from his paperback. Attempts at information burial that big usually gets a person banished from the publishing industry afterward.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00a0\u2022\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/NYT-media-bal.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>NYT<\/em><\/a> \/ <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/WashPo-media-bal.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>WashPo<\/em><\/a>: &#8220;manufactured denial&#8221; \/ &#8216;false media balance&#8217;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This talking point is one any journalist can torpedo on their own by undertaking one simple challenge: at any point within the time frame from 1988 to today, name the instances where any skeptic climate scientist was given irrefutable fair news media balance. They won&#8217;t find any. At the height of Gelbspan&#8217;s fame with that <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Gelb-2004-BP-journalistic-laziness.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">quip about journalistic laziness<\/a> of giving &#8216;too much fair media balance&#8217; to skeptic climate scientists 2004-2008, I was becoming more irritated that news broadcasters and magazine publishers \/ newspaper editors were doing the exact opposite, and I vented about it in my first-ever <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/NH-bias-for-years.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter to the PBS Ombudsman<\/a>. When the Ombudsman responded with the words &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Ombudsman-false-equivalence.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">false equivalence<\/a>,&#8221; it struck a particular nerve because (after fully comprehending who Ross Gelbspan was mere weeks earlier and doing the best due diligence I could to find out more about him) I ran into so many repetitions of the &#8216;unfair media balance&#8217; talking point &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Gelb-Nieman-media-bal-05.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">including Gelbspan&#8217;s<\/a> &#8211; that I wrote a piece for AmericanThinker on that exact problem: &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanthinker.com\/blog\/2009\/12\/the_lack_of_climate_skeptics_o.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The lack of climate skeptics on PBS&#8217;s &#8216;Newshour&#8217;<\/a>.&#8221; I expanded on the origins of that &#8216;unfair media balance&#8217; talking point <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=1886\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in my June 2014 blog post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One more thing here &#8211; skeptic climate scientists did <strong><em>not<\/em><\/strong> &#8216;manufacture denial;&#8217; it existed <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=3929\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">right from the start<\/a> of the Al Gore &#8216;global warming era.&#8217;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/NYT-BP-05.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>NYT<\/em><\/a>: &#8220;In &#8216;Boiling Point&#8217; (200<em><strong>4<\/strong><\/em>), Mr. Gelbspan was tough on reporters \u2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That&#8217;s the 2005 paperback cover. The obituary writer here might just be inept, but what&#8217;s potentially one reason why others might do that? If the <em>NYT<\/em> dared to show the <em>actual<\/em> 2004 hardcover, it would be every bit as acutely awkward as it would be on explaining what&#8217;s seen on the inner sleeve of his 1997 hardcover.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/HiO-BP-pulitzer-covsleeve3.jpg\" width=\"544\" height=\"458\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Which brings us to one of the bigger omissions in both of these obituaries \u2026.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/NYT-Pulit.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>NYT<\/em><\/a> \/ <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/WashPo-Pulit.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>WashPo<\/em><\/a>: &#8220;\u2026 As special projects editor, he oversaw a series&#8221; \/ &#8220;<strong>series<\/strong> won a Pulitzer\u2026&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Credit <em>WashPo<\/em> for not exasperating this Pulitzer problem. Fault the <em>NYT<\/em> &#8211; fatally &#8211; for doing so, with the extra bit there of &#8220;<em>The Globe named Mr. Gelbspan a &#8216;co-recipient&#8217; of the prize for conceiving and editing the series<\/em>.&#8221; Think about it &#8211; the <em>Globe<\/em> has no more right to name anyone as a co-winner than <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Titanic-Oscars.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">anybody at Paramount Pictures \/ 20th Century Fox<\/a> claiming Leo DiCaprio should be declared a co-winner of an Academy award for his contribution to the Titanic movie (he <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/article\/1998\/03\/06\/leonardo-dicaprio-robbed-titanic-nomination\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wasn&#8217;t even nominated for an Oscar<\/a>). The AMPAS exclusively awards its Academy Awards and the Pulitzer organization exclusively names its award recipients. Gelbspan was neither a co-winner, nor was he an outright winner \u2026 but <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/?p=434\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">as I detailed in 2013<\/a>, he said he was and didn&#8217;t stop others from saying he was. This false claim is one of the biggest breaches of ethics a journalist can make. And it is arguably monstrous of both the <em>NYT<\/em> and <em>WashPo<\/em> <strong><em>not to mention a word about this.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Notice also the pattern happening here? Take those two passages and include the bits about Gelbspan&#8217;s 1991 book (where the back cover <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Break-ins-Threats-Pulit2.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">labeled him as a Pulitzer winner<\/a>) and do a more thorough comparison. This all begins to look less like two writers at major competing newspapers wrote independent pieces, and more like they dutifully regurgitated what was provided to them &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/NYT-v-WashPo-words.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">albeit with some re-arranging<\/a> &#8211; in a template they needed to follow.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2022 <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/NYT-skeptics-convinced-Gelb.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>NYT<\/em><\/a> \/ <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/WashPo-said-was-misled.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>WashPo<\/em><\/a>: &#8220;\u2026 Gelbspan read the work of some climate skeptics and, for a time, became convinced that there was no crisis&#8221; \/ &#8220;\u2026 he was misled about climate change\u2026&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As I detailed <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/GF-Gelb-discovery-probs.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in several of my blog posts<\/a> about his faulty timeline for that situation, it is very unlikely that it occurred at all the way he describes. Worse for the <em>NYT<\/em>, the situation involving climate skeptics who allegedly &#8216;convinced him there was no crisis&#8217; did not happen early in his coverage of global warming &#8211; meaning as a reporter &#8211; the situation was in 1995, three years after he had <em>retired<\/em> as a reporter. Regarding <em>WashPo<\/em>\u2019s bit about him being becoming alarmed about the climate crisis and <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/WashPo-project-based-on-95-essay.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wanting to explore it in a book project<\/a>, only to be convinced by skeptic climate scientists there wasn&#8217;t a crisis \u2026 that simply doesn&#8217;t pass the smell test. Gelbspan&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Gelb-2000-tale.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">presentation in 2000<\/a> (with its bit about trees) had that same tale (<a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Gelb-2001-tale.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">as did a 2001 Sierra Club interview<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>He said the Earth was <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/Gelb-BGlobe-May92-1024x547.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">racing to a climate precipice in 1992<\/a> in his last article at the <em>Boston Globe<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Gelb-Singer-Balling92-v3-1024x705.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">and specifically named skeptic scientists<\/a> who were &#8216;downplaying&#8217; this horrible pending calamity. But in 1995, <a href=\"http:\/\/gelbspanfiles.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Gelb-BP-04-BP-tale.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">became aware of this enormity<\/a> seemingly for the <em>first time<\/em> ever, and then skeptic scientists he&#8217;d seemingly knew nothing about convinced him otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>He can&#8217;t have it both ways. When reporters do try to pull that stunt, they are no longer reporters, they are propagandists hoping nobody notices their switch in narratives.<\/p>\n<p>You don&#8217;t have to be a rocket scientist to find these fatal problems with Ross Gelbspan&#8217;s legacy. Since I&#8217;ve never taken a single class in journalism, it&#8217;s clear that a person does not have to be a journalism to find them either. The plain fact that reporters at major so-called news outlets over the span of two dozen+ years did not rise to the core tenets of journalism and expose all these faults is a clear indication that there is something <strong>massively wrong<\/strong> with the bulk of the journalism profession.<\/p>\n<p>Gelbspan\u2019s work, and the sycophant media\u2019s unquestioning acceptance of it is symbolic of American Pravda. It simply boils down to propaganda disinformation &#8211; and ultimately &#8211; control.
